Ayn Rand attacks altruism as evil and both defines and defends her philosophy of objectivism. Rand also explains how monopolies cannot exist unless they are supported by government erected barriers to competition.

Note: When comparing prices in different years you have to adjust for inflation! A dollar today doesn't have the same buying power as a dollar 30 years ago.

  • @NLExtrem If you want to contradict Ayn Rand start by discussing specific issues instead of nonsense rhetorical insults.

  • @theelove Threatened? yeah, Because of retards who believe nonsense and promote ignorance and bronze age desert survival guides.

Only willing to acknowledge what the 5 senses tell them? Go to school and learn how many senses exist. Atheists advance, Nutjobs ignore advancement in knowledge to hold an old doctrine above all else even if it means to lie to oneself.

Disorder? How many times have you read of someone microwaving a baby because GOD told them to do it. Think about it.

  • Her philosophy is dangerous.

  • If government helps to create a monopoly, how did Rockefeller create his? Just out of curiosity, I'm looking for a serious discussion here, not trolling or debating.

  • If Phil Donahue shaved off his powder white hair you would see the numbers 666 inscribed on his head.

  • Ayn and Milton...priceless

  • OIL COMPANIES DON'T SET THE PER DOLLAR PRICE!!! GOVERNMENTS DO!!!

  • Donahue's oil argument is flawed on so many levels. First off, we don't have a free market, secondly, the price of oil is largely set by taxes levied by governments, less so by the actual cost per barrel, even though that's also a factor. But the average government more than doubles the actual price of gas, which is why there is a great variance in the price of oil across the globe. If a barrel trades for a set price, shouldn't gas cost about the same everywhere?

  • I don't agree with the doctrine of Objectivism, but I certainly enjoy this woman as an orator. She carries herself, linguistically, very staunchly.

  • @bduhe219 "only those born with great intellect and drive and ability should succeed and all the rest should perish"

So you retract this misrepresentation? I think you're looking at it from the wrong angle, as a "damn the unfortunate" kind of philosophy. Consider that the alternative to free association (choosing to help someone or not) is the initiation of physical force. If you worry about charity not being enough, think how much more money we'd have to be generous with if not for taxes.
