In the high revenue world of American retail fashion every company tries to brand their own look.

But according to a federal lawsuit, the look of US Retailer Abercrombie and Fitch cannot include a Muslim Hijab.

California resident Nida Khan says she was fired by the chain after refusing a manager's order to take off her religious headscarf which women cannot do according to their beliefs.

Hasiba Rashid is an American Muslim living Brooklyn New York. One of8 million Muslims that call America home. She like many of them heard about the lawsuit on the internet.

This is not the first time Abercrombie and Fitch has been publicly accused of discriminating against its employees. In 2004 the retailer paid 40 million dollars to settle a class action lawsuit brought by Black, Latino and other minority workers in the lawsuit, that group said because of their look they were paid and promoted less than other workers.

Abercrombie & Fitch representatives say they will not talk about the Hijab lawsuit but released a statement, which said in part "We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all individuals regardless of religion, race or ethnicity. ... We comply with the law regarding reasonable religious accommodation

The case was filed with the help of the California branch of the Council on American Islamic relations. CAIR's New York Civil Rights director says the retoric of fear sometimes magnified by Washington politicians, has set the tone corporate America.

A recent poll indicates, Americans continue to associate Islam with
violence.

There was no boycott line in front of the New York Abercrombie & Fitch store only a line of tourists anxiously awaiting to see the companies latest promotion. Although the retailer may not have lost much business in light of the lawsuit. Hasiba Rashid says the company will never see a penny from her again.
