Whoever is dissing this cover back off and know this:
1. John completely revamped the vocals and made them his own (they sound great)
2. He played a song that Hendrix meant to only be played in a studio
3. Pino Palladino killed in general
4. AND John added a solo that wasn't even in Hendrix's version and used chord structures during the solo that were inspired by Hendrix.
Hendrix was freaking great, and John was trying to do justice by sounding like him and being original. He succeeded.
