No, Joe Lieberman QUIT the Democratic party and became an Independent. He did that to guarantee a spot on the final ballot after he was defeated in the Democratic party. And if he listened to " the people ", he'd acknowledge that 67% of the people in Connecticut FAVOR health care reform with a public option, which he opposes. The majority of the people who oppose the health care legislation that Obama is pushing do so because it does not include a public option. Joe Lieberman is an asshole.

Just fathom your statement for two seconds. If Democrats just " obeyed the party ", health care reform would have been passed months ago.  If we just " obeyed the party ", why did we have to lobby Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins and Arlen Specter to get the stimulus package passed. Just by looking at your moniker, I know I'm responding to an asshole, but I'll indulge you.  Over the last 2 years, Republicans have voted in with party leadership 96% of the time, 93% of the time, every Republican were on the same side of the vote. Democrats have only voted with party leadership 81% of the time, and less than 20% of the time have they all been on the same side of the vote. People like you are good at repeating the bullshit you hear on Rush Limbaugh but it's never been true.

Joe Lieberman ran for president twice. And he was a vice presidential candidate. That is why this is relevant. And being a politician OF ANY KIND is a 24/7 job. And Falwell did advocate for the use of violence against a lot of people. He did so when he said New York City deserved to be attacked and called 9/11 a small form of Judgment Day. The fact that he is free to spew such garbage and people still give money to his church are what make him so dangerous. I, for one, am glad he's dead.

Joe Lieberman isn't the president, he is a senator. Please try to keep it in perspective. YES. That's exactly what I am suggesting. A president or vice president who refuses to assume the responsibility of the office for ANY REASON is a scumbag. And of those millions of other Americans who " refuse " to work on Sunday, NONE OF THEM have jobs that require their service on Sunday.
