I just tried to play this game on the NES, I have it CIB in mint condition with manual. It says in the manual the final boss will only take 1 hit just as shown in the video. I only lasted about 15 minutes in the game before my whole group was slaughtered. :( Not a fun game to me, but I do really like the music in this game, very good NES music. :)

What "guides"?? Ecolah97? The AD+D games including Heroes of the Lance were based on novels written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. The books are excellent. You should try reading them. Start with Dragons of Autumn Twilight.
