People love to believe that if you work hard enough at it, you could present a perfect picture of yourself, free of weaknesses, shortcomings, and flaws. Whether it's airbrushing a photograph or exaggerating a story, no one in their right mind is enthusiastic about their failures. Everyone wants to win and be the man. Unfortunately, with humans, failure is inevitable. It's not if you will mess up or make a mistake, it's when. No matter how hard you try, you will, sooner or later, look like a fool in your failure. Fortunately, the heart of the Gospel is found in our weakness. Loving someone in their success is not really love. But the true test is loving someone in their failure. Jesus Christ loves us in our mess. Listen to this week's sermon and dare yourself to be vulnerable, so that Gospel can truly become the "Good News" in your life.
