Rethinking Prejudices About Mental Health Issues (x-stigma)

People with mental health problems face misconceptions, discrimination and stigma in society. This is a campaign to fight that stigma. Visit our website at www.breakbuildbe.co.cc to find out more about the campaign.

We aim to BREAK the myths associated with mental health problems, BUILD bridges of understanding towards mental health problems, and gather a pool of supporters to BE active bridges and speak out against mental health stigma. Hence our campaign title is "Bridges. Break. Build. Be."

If you feel mentally unwell, please seek treatment for your mental health problems. Mental health problems are certainly treatable, and seeking treatment for them is no different from visiting a doctor for physical illness.

This is a campaign under the X-Stigma competition, organised by NUS Business School. Thanks go to them for organising this competition :D

Hey this is kindof cool, cos i did CIP with Minds last year, and really the kids didnt turn out to be what i expected, most of them may not be as 'intelligent" as us, but a lot of them prove to be very independent and street smart, they aren't all helpless and crazy like we think. good job :)

Not bad, really impressive. This video sure did enlighten me abt mentally unsound patients and the social stigma attached to them. Hehe. LOVED IT!!! GREAT JOB!!!

Nice video you have here, and your campaign did raise many valid points that many of us could take home in the treatment of the mentally ill around us.

However, I feel that perhaps, one of the ways to prevent mental health problems is to start treating the people around us with more respect and dignity.

Most of the mentally ill are not born with a mental illness since young, and are in fact shaped by adverse circumstances around them, such as ridicule, pressure, etc that causes their mental illness to take root. So perhaps, your campaign should also acknowledge this.

All in all, your campaign was very informative and it did deepen my knowledge in people suffering mental problems - thank you and keep up the good work!

hmmm i never actually thought much about people with mental health problems. always assumed the things they said on tv (crazy, demented, psychopath, etc) were true.

thanks for opening my eyes to this issue in an interesting way. learnt alot of stuff from the vid.

inspiring to see students fighting for causes that they believe in, even though the cause may not be very popular or well-known. keep up the good work!
