i hated what happened to her i wish she could've gotten over her eating disorder, and i feel really bad for her brother because went through a tough time when she passed

She actually did get through anorexia. When she died she was getting healthy and was starting getting her life back together, but the sudden strain on her heart from not eating 7 years and then gaining 20 pounds was too much.

@EdwardElrick93 Yes, he cared as much as one tells an alcoholic to stop drinking. If one is going to destroy oneself, one will. Intercede you may, but the person has to want to change. Richard knew there was a problem, just not exactly sure what (anorexia was fairly unknown at that time). Short of shackling Karen and force feeding her, what was he to do? As to "lazy bum" - this "lazy bum" wrote, produced, found songs, arranged, & encouraged Karen to sing. She might not be known without him.
