@patchbunny Yeah - modern horror gave up on subtlety and mood and gave us close ups of people cutting each other or themselves up, instead.

I can't believe this really exists. It's such a corny idea I thought Cosby made it up for his routine.
There's a huge difference in what passed for horror in those days compared to now.

Sound not so good, but the vid is a nice concept. "All mankind-doomed."

The Willis Cooper written ones are MUCH better. "The Dark" is on here and it is one of the best LO episodes.

Valse Triste is another. The only way the story progresses is because a park ranger doesn't want to do his job and wants to be ignorant towards the fate of the girls.

Many of Oboler's "Lights Out" episodes required the characters to be willfully ignorant in order for the story to proceed.
With this one, for example, the professor told them he created it, the dangers of it, and to blast it with artillery before it got too big. So what did they do? Call him crazy and shoot it with water. You have to totally suspend your disbelief in human nature if you want to enjoy many of the episodes.
