Asking Alexandria is a British five-piece post-hardcore band from York, England who formed in 2008.

They are currently touring the United States on the Almost Homeless Tour with Evergreen Terrace, For the Fallen Dreams and Unholy in support of their debut album Stand Up And Scream, which was released on September 15, 2009 through Sumerian Records. They are also to be seen again in the United States on the You'd Be Way Cuter In A Coffin Tour with Alesana, From First to Last, The Word Alive and Memphis May Fire in November and December 2009.
Asking Alexandria has their roots in Dubai, UAE, where guitarist Ben Bruce started a band under the name Amongst Us. Formed in the fall of 2003, Amongst Us fused both melodic and hardcore vocals with heavier and more hardcore musical elements. Just as the band started to mature, members were soon to leave Dubai and member changes were made. Bruce stated in an interview with Gulf News that "it was ridiculously hard to keep the band going because people come and go in Dubai". With new members and material, a decision was made to change their name, settling on End of Reason. It has been explained that the name was born whilst endlessly trying to find a name with reason and meaning without any success, therefore End of Reason.
