United States of America Of the People, For the People
"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness"

March 9th, 2013
Mr. President &
Elected Officials
Offices of the United States Government
Washington D.C., U.S.A.

Mr. President, Members of Congress,
My name is Marc Tapp. I am a 24 year old citizen of this great nation. What makes this country the great nation it is, is the people; not the Government. I believe you are doing this nation an injustice.
You continuously fail to live up to core values our country was built on. "Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
I, along with millions of other Americans, demand equality for all. When will we realize that history continues to repeat itself. First women's rights to vote, blacks rights to pretty much do anything, and now marriage equality. Mr. President, where would you be if not for African American equality? Rep. Pelosi, where would you be without women's equality? How you can sit idly by allowing, even supporting anti-marriage equality is beyond me.
I am not asking for your permission to marry who I like, I am demanding you repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and allow all citizens of this nation equal rights. We do not pay you to oppress us, rather we invest in a future where the men and women of this great nation are treated equal by our elected officials setting things right. Set aside your religious views, (especially since church and state are supposed to be separate,) and do the right thing by your constituents.
This is not a question or a plea, but a demand for equality and for our government to finally do the right thing by the people.
Sincerely yours,

Marc Tapp
Law Abiding Citizen
