Maine Eastern Railroad Train 001 draws through the Maine Street, Brunswick Crossing for an on-time arrival to Ceder Street Station at 9:50 A.M. This year, Maine Eastern has added another stop to their Rockland-Brunswick Service at the Brunswick Station Square, just above Ceder Street. Also, the railroad has made the Maine Street Crossing (with a new Safetran System) and several others FRA "quiet zones," so today's train, led by EMD FL9 488 and 489, does not follow standard horn procedure at this crossing (The train does honk since it stopped in the middle of the crossing).

The Maine Street Crossing is located adjacent to the Brunswick Green, and is approximately two blocks north of Bowdoin College. Today's consist includes the two leading FL9s, followed by ME 2006 (the Alexander Hamilton), followed by Birkin, Elm (ME 1004), and Ash (ME 1003).

Enjoy!

  • fuck the doctors, businesses and everyone else, Quiet Zones are deadly, in 99.7% of this country the railroad predates the current occupants, so there shouldn't even be any discussion of quiet zones. You don't like it, don't move there.

  • That's a protected crossing, & it's also a quiet zone because of all the businesses, & doctors offices in that area of town, so there's minimum horn activity there.

  • I hate the sound of those annoying E bells.

  • sorry for posting that last one that was dumb i thought you were a skater and i needed ppl for this SORRY PEACE

  • The train does not sound its horn account stopping in the crossing - but rather sounds it horn - two shorts - to "move forward".

  • Yes Brunswick!! WE used to have a station here u can even see the old platform for it.
