  • lol sorry i forgot to specify i meant the water transport tank in begging of your video

  • hey M, it was a trade I made years ago with a former service guy.

  • HEY WHERE DID YOU GET THAT TANK I WANT ONE EXACTLY THE SAME? AND HOW MUCH WAS IT

  • hey M, i ordered it from the tank manufacture who got it from the cylinder manufacture. my end of this job was $40,000 which was for everything except the cabinetry. that tank only today is now $24,000 and the job would be closer to $50,000, plus cabinetry.

  • An LFS in my area recommended using a product called Melafix for bacterial issues. I am currently using it to treat my tank to see if it helps at all, because my 6 green chromis damsels have red sores. Of the anti-bacterial medications I found, this one seemed to be the best fit and it boasts that it will not affect my biological filter. I haven't had any of my fish die yet and I have only been medicating for 2 days now. I'll let you know how it goes, because this stuff is natural.

  • hey R, i have been holding 3 dozen Chromis for the Cylinder Tank for 4 weeks now. I have been using Formalin daily. i was planning on delivering these today but I spotted one with the Red Sore and decided not to take any of them and just keep medicating.

  • @lafishguy Well I'm a few weeks out and I'm not sure if the Melafix did anything. I lost three of my damsels, but the loss seemed to be more stress based than anything else. I still have three, two of which have red sores, but they are all swimming healthily and appear to be recovering. After removing the melafix I decided to raise my specific gravity from 1.022 to 1.024 and buffer my pH from about 8.0 to roughly 8.3, because I read that bacteria thrive on hyposalinity and such. Good for now

  • hey R, other than dosing Formalin I have no other tricks. I did get two batches from another wholesaler and they are in quarantine doing very well. I plan to add them back to the Cylinder Tank.

  • @lafishguy Well Jim, at this point I've lost 2 of my 6 damsels and I'm pretty sure I'm going to lose another one tomorrow. That will leave me three and 2 of them have sores, but for now look healthy, obviously other than the sores. Considering that this has not been spreading to my other fish, I have readded my carbon and we will just see what happens. Is there something simple I could do to help my fish without stressing them out?

  • hey R, i have used it sucsessfully on FW tanks. keep us posted on your results.

  • formalin is excelent for dipping zoanthids.

  • I completely understand your frustration with fish disease. Aquarium maintenance has its' highs and its lows that is for sure.

  • Thanks for another great episode! Also the episode with the scratch was good.

  • hey I, its part of the original 35 episodes that need to have their music re-done. i will get to it...someday.

  • I understand you have many more episodes available to watch. Something about this cylinder tank being scratched? Love to see that episode. Any way to see it or how can I find it?

  • I'm guessing the problem may be stress due to overstocking but that's just my opinion. Doing a great job on the vids keep them coming. =)

  • nice video jim I always wanted a chromis fish but I have a clownfish and a yellow tang only? but jim chromis fish must be in schools just like neon tetra fish right?

  • One way i found of dealing with that bacterial problem is i use a product in australia called

( Myaxin) witch will fix it and is safe for all fish but might play around with some corals. But it has no copper in it.

  • this video CONKS at 39 seconds, i had to just skip that section

  • Jim its not funny but i can see you trying to catch those blues in that big tank hope it worked out guess ill keep watching on to the next one....

  • Nevermind I watched Part 5.

  • What are the books that you mentioned?

  • thanks for da vids, ive been waiting for several weeks

  • Wow what a mess chromis wiping out the whole system possibly. You should contact matthew wittenrich about the disease he is an expert and has written a few books about disease and other fish related things.

  • What if u took a sample of the affected tissue from an already dead fish and put it under the micro scope. If u could identify the bacteria even to a family you could then get some more precise info on the net and maybe an answer ( thats if you havnt already worked it out) ?. Anyway good work like always.
