An interview with Joe Elliott of Def Leppard, conducted by Alan K. Stout of The Times Leader in 2000. A note from Alan:

"This was the second time I had interviewed Joe and a few things stick out from this conversation:

A) Even though Def Leppard was amid a very nice commercial comeback at the time of this interview, the backlash to '80s hard-rock that the band experienced during the early '90s - specifically during the grunge movement - was still something that troubled him.

B) He is a very serious fan of rock music and has a fine knowledge of pop music history.

C) He did not know, until I told him, how much the kindness that he showed towards Brian May at the 1992 Freddie Mercury tribute concert meant to May. I'd read an interview where May talked about it, and I was able to tell Joe, who was unaware. It was nice to be the one to tell him."
