  • Hedy!!!!!!

  • There he is again - Pat Boone.

On Coast to Coast AM with George Noory fans were celebrating the 50th anniversary of the cult classic Journey to the Centre of the Earth (1959). Who was the special guest? Pat Boone.

So here is this guy, popular singer, nothing really scandalous in his life, a movie still popular with sci-fi fans long past its intended shelf life, still making records, welcomed wherever he goes in Christian and non-Christian circles alike.

Is that a charmed life or what?

  • @TheTubePortal Ironically, this pits one Columbia alumnus against another as I listen to "Roar, Lions Roar" being sung in this clip!

  • @MisterEvasion But then he had to go and tarnish it all by coming out and telling the public that he thinks President Obama was born in Kenya and is not an American citizen and that he is secretly a Muslim who will destroy America's supposed "Christian heritage". What a shame to see such a talented man lose his sense of reality and balance.

  • I love it when they stump that little prick Cerf..

  • This is a classy show. Not like the trash they show on TV now. I wish they would come out with a box set.

  • @jslasher1 That's very interesting. I have Hedy to blame for my $100 monthly cell bill? LOL.

  • Thanks for posting these. These are priceless. Anyone who is a fan of old movies can appreciate what incredible time capsule these are.

  • @annpham Wasn't Hedy lovely -- beauty and brains. Don't forget that the technology of the mobile [cell] phone that you own is based on her 1941 patented invention [with George Antheil], known then as 'frequency-hopping', and today as 'spread-spectrum'.

  • @mizbootie I think they mean that "legitimate" plays are on Broadway and that doesn't include off-Broadway productions. Or they could mean plays with Actors' Equity members rather than non-equity actors. Either way, I think it's a little snooty of them but that's who they were.

  • @littlelouie11 I don't think so. I've watched a lot and a few of them have stumped the panel - but only a few.

  • I have been watching a lot of these old shows with past stars. Pat was the only star that stumped the panel.
