@cestrian81 Certainly by Sunday, yes. But Match of the Day never did so on a Saturday. The news just before used to say 'if you don't want to know the score, look away now' and the results were flashed up without comment.

Was it generally accepted everyone who watched The Big Match on a Sunday afternoon would already know the main scores from the previous day? Brian Moore pretty much gives everything away regarding United's relegation within the first couple of minutes of this programme.
