This is a modification of the posting by samzamir on 6/3/06. While I can appreciate his tribute to his (I am assuming) particular Cadillac, I would much prefer to hear the original audio. Since I can't find it, I thought dubbing some more era-appropriate music onto the clip and editing out the repeat cycles would be as close to any original clip as I could get for the time being.

The dub is one of the versions of the opening credits to 'That Girl!'. Granted, I'm still a decade off in the date of 'That Girl!' and 1958, but you'd think the song was written expressly for this; I performed no editing besides removing the short verbiage at the beginning of 'That Girl!'... (Note the synchronization of the music and the lurch of the turn-table, among others)

  • OMG i LOVE this song

  • why dont they make cars like these anymore these cars have way more style then the box cars cadillac makes these days

  • theme song for the show "that girl" ..lol

  • I do agree with you. I like 59 models, although I do also think the models until 58 looked more stylish and rich in details, at some sort of elegancy.

  • True, the 56 57 and 58 were beautiful, yet the 59 was truly the ugly duckling, the fins which were not on level with the rest of the car, was just ugly, the same happened with buick in 59, it changes completely, 59 was the worst year, car beauty hit a peak in 1958, and since then car design has gone down hill, but its finally going back up 50 years later.

  • Very nice!

  • Huge car!

  • Loved this !

  • Oh My! Perfect! Yes, technically "That Girl" is a few years younger than the clip, but a brilliant choice none-the-less. The harp arpeggio, the brassy brass and the pizzicato strings all sing "Look at me - I'm a big glitzy, shiny new thing!" Well done - ya got great taste!
