@t4h2c054 mid-model year ford started dropping 3.9's into the 40th anniversary editions. aside from a few technical differences, they perform identically. maybe you should fucking look into shit. Short answer is, not all the 04's have 3.9s.

A lot of people bitch me out for not getting the GT but I think it's hilarious how I get like almost 30 mpg in my V6 but that's nearly halved with the V8. I'm a cheap bastard XD

@xblackxbulllittx Then why do all the 04's have 3.9 plastered inside the engine bay if it's only a 3.8? 2004 was a 3.9, could you notice that much of a difference between the 3.8 in the 99-03's and the 3.9 in the 04? No, but its still a 3.9.

Also there isn't much you can do about the bad sounds coming out of the exhaust at higher RPM's. It's not that bad but the only way to help is either long tubes or a nice turbo setup.
