The Tarriers on "Hootenanny," October 12, 1963. From left to right, Marshall Brickman (author of "Annie Hall" and other Woody Allen classics), Eric Weissburg ("Dueling Banjos" from "Deliverance") and Clarence Cooper. This was network TV's first interracial music group.
Great Bile Dem Cabbage. Sure beats the Janet Davis beginners version.

Well Glory be! I knew and heard these guys at Gerde's and The Bitter End. A gem. Marshall and Eric still going strong- what happened to Clarence?

Thank you for posting this. It is both splendid music and a historic document.

I remember seeing this show when I was in high school Does anyone have them doing "Take this Hammer" with Clarence Cooper singing lead. That's a very powerful performance, also on Hootenanny.
