KTX-II passing at 300 km/h.

Some claims that KTX-2 has record test speed of 420km/h, but I was unable to verify that. other source claims the record to be 384km/h.

KTX-2 is not TGV derived.
It uses different motor, different power control, different bogie, different pantograph, different body etc.

  • you can actually calculate the speed of the train.

the tip of the front end and tip of the rear end passes the same spot in 2.39 seconds.

    200meter x 60min x 60sec / 2.39sec = 301km/h

  • @simhopp nice math man.

  • @watchinghawk

    thanks.

more precise value for the length of train is actually 201.2 meter

which increase the speed to 303km/h
