relay. It was not just handed them.
Most of the East German sprinter were
on the World Record Relay team. The
U.S. was just better on this day. I agree
Ashford should have gotten more
Commerical endorsements. She was
truly a great runner, a great role model,
and even a great lady.

Here's an interesting note about this ceremony. There were 3 100m gold medalists on the podium (Kondrateyva '80, Ashford '84, and Flo-Jo '88), 3 100m silver medalists (Gohr '80, Brown '84, and Ashford '88), and 1 100m bronze medalist (Auerswald-Lange '80). Talk about depth.

It was truly one of the most exciting races I've ever seen. Ashford pulled off an amazing anchor leg considering that her and Flo-Jo nearly botched the exchange.

It's also a damn shame that the 1988 gold is not awarded to her. Flo-Jo and other cheaters should be scrapped from the record books asap.

No I dont have it posted on her yet. However I do have it somewhere in my collection. It will take me some time to sort through all the videos I have, when I do I will be sure to post the race!
