Here is a video of the 47" Flat bottom R/C "Drag boat" that I built.

I made patterns for this by tracing the frames from the 27" Dumas SK-Daddle kit and enlarging them at Kinkos.

This boat is powered by a sub 1 HP 27cc Stihl line trimmer engine, but it cooked right along. This was a fun project that I'd recommend to anyone interested in gas boats. I ended up selling this to a fellow in Canada on ebay recently.

  • from where did you bought this?

how much was the final cost?

  • I bought the smaller version of the Dumas sk-daddle kit from the hobby store, and scaled up the frames to make this large version from scratch. the small kit was only like $40 or so if i remember correctly. It probably cost me $250-275 to build this entire boat including the motor, radio and hardware.

  • @bermudaguy03 the common name for a two point hyro is tunnel hull this is probley why you missunderstude my comment most don't know a tunnel hull is a two point hyro, the air goes in the frount and can't get out the back so it rases the boat up out of the water causeing a foil of air to escape the action is called hydro planeing, the reason you don't see many of them anylonger is because there mostley used as drag boats now because there so fast on the water,, enough said...!

  • @bermudaguy03 but there is a such of thing your confused as to what a three point hydoo is ,a three point is where three points of the boat its self is touching the water has nothing to do with the porp, a three point hydro is two sponsons and draging the rear of the boat in the water, a two point hydro the sponsons go the intire linght of the boat with the back where the air comes out its blocked off to cause a air foil the intire boat is rideing on a air foil with only the prop in the water

  • @david1513 lol funny.there is no such thing as a 2 point hydro. if u have a boat that has 2 front sponsons AND a prop touching the water thats a 3 point hydro. but have fun thats the most important thing

  • i wish you could see my K&B out board hydrow runs its realey fast i built the hull myself its the only two point hydow in the wrold, it takes air in to the frount and won't let it out and causes the boat to clide on a cushion of air with only two points contacting the water, but a boat of this nature has to have a turn fin or it won't turn,
