Otis high speed Traction Elevator @ Wachovia First Union Tower Roanoke VA

This is the tallest building in roanoke at 21 floors. The elevator is beautiful and has the european fixtures that are touch sensitive in the cab. i went to the highest unlocked floor. here is a pic of the building http://flickr.com/photos/dieselducy/3178089783/
here are some building facts
- On October 29, 1990, a construction worker fell to his death after slipping when moving a support table to where a crane could hook onto it from the seventh floor.
- Renamed First Union Tower from Dominion Bank Tower on October 15, 1993, to reflect First Union's acquisition of Dominion.
- This is both the tallest building in Roanoke and western Virginia.
- The tower is topped with a copper colored dome and is illuminated at night with 135 separate floodlights.
- There is no numbered thirteenth floor.
- Its crown consists of a 50-foot tall, vented metal pyramid topped with a 48-foot tall spire.
- Its crown pays homage to the historic Hotel Roanoke located just north of the edifice.
- The tower contains 1,260 separate windows on its exterior.
- The construction of the tower involved the demolition of the Hunter Viaduct in spring 1990.
