What I want to know is how you make the bad voice in your head that says "Oh, this is stupid, no one's going to read this" and "what makes you think this is any good" shut the heck up?

You don't. They're always there. You just keep writing anyway.

All solid advise. Ms. Edit, Ms. Write and Ms. Read, like all beautiful women in the world, are each worth the writer's full attentions.

I have spent hours and hours on YouTube over the years and I have never watched a video that is so powerful as this one. You can really feel Anne's optimism, enthusiasm, joy, and encouragement for you to succeed. I think Anne is the most beautiful person on this planet right now. So wise - and I really really trust her. Thank you Anne for all of this xxx

I remember Interview with a Vampire it came over me like an infection or flu that comes on fast and leaves you too weak to escape. Almost from the start for me I knew the story was fresh and it is good. I think this video is going to inspire more than a few people to write some pages. Well done!

I hate to agree with her about "no rules" but it's true. I've read so many books about using action verbs, eliminating the passive, doing away with adjectives and adverbs, and then I see bestselling authors breaking all the rules! Go figure.

Their reputation. If word got out that ANYONE at a publishing company stole an authors work, it would ruin their business. No other author would submit their material to them and without new material, they'd be in serious risk of going out of business.

O.K., somebody throw me a bone here?
Maybe after a long stint in the music industry and now in insurance, I'm become distrustful, but how does one protect oneself from copyright infringement? Anne Rice spoke of sending your manuscript to a New York publisher ... o.k., what's to stop someone from claiming that your work is theirs or perhaps their spouses?
