psycho killer (bass cover)

this is my first bass cover and i'm not really good at bass (or guitar as a matter of fact) but this song was simple enough (yes i still made mistakes, i learned the song half an hour before i recorded it)

i'm using a jay turser p-bass clone (not terrible, the nut needs replacing, it rattles like hell) and a small ibanez bass amp

the song is psycho killer by talking heads.

@VampireJulia this video is over a year old, i am way better at bass (and guitar) now. i have 2 finger technique and i can play this song in my sleep by now.

but thanks for not being "that guitarist/bassist" who has to totally diss on someone's playing and not be constructive at all

@MrWonnabee well this was legit after knowing the song for about 30 minutes, and i just wanted to make a video (i got it down perfectly now)

im really a guitarist (what little bit i am) so i only dabble on the bass, my 2 finger style sucks so i try to avoid it

Nice start, you have to drive the song with the bass, this song is all about the bass line pounding out the song. It's what is pounding in the the Psycho Killer's head, you can't lay back for a second or it ruins the intensity of the whole thing. Load it up again with the bass dragging the song mercilessly behind it or not..............

i got a jay turser bass a while ago, 400c i think, and it duznt sound nearly as good as this. the pick ups are terrible, the strings are old and flat sounding and i payed around 230$ for it, probly cuz its lefty.

but ya this is nice, your bass has the nice coily sound i want my strings to have. maybe its the tone on your amp?

but overall it sounds better than my bass, but i dont hav the money to get it upgraded.

anyway, nice job :)
