Season 3 Episode 18 Part 2

Hosted by Leonard Nimoy and broadcast weekly from 1976 to 1982, In Search Of... is the greatest mystery documentary show ever. I grew up watching this show, enjoying the spine-tingling presentation of quasi-fact and dramatic synthesizer-heavy music of Rinder and Lewis.

I am not selling this material, neither am I interested in buying bootlegs. It is currently commercially unavailable, so I am joining with others to make evaluation of this excellent series possible.

I'm posting these videos to fill some gaps left by recently suspended users (from whom I downloaded these). Check my subscriptions to find users with more episodes, and drop me a note if you have posted any "new" ones. Thanks for watching!

ABOUT THIS EPISODE:
It's interesting to me that this episode doesn't mention Mengele's fascination with identical twins or exact details of the monstrosities he committed. While the Wikipedia article does go into a bit of detail about this, it seems to all but ignore Simon Wiesenthal's worthy vigil; thankfully this In Search Of... episode does.

Also, Mengele reportedly died within a week of this episode's original air date (Feb 1, 1979)...
From Wikipedia:
"Mengele, whose health had been deteriorating for years, died on February 7, 1979, in Bertioga, Brazil, where he accidentally drowned or possibly suffered a stroke while swimming in the sea."

  • @beautystruck don't block those that express racism or foul language show their shame to remind others to learn to take responsibility from it and get with the 21st century

  • i stilll cant believe that people like him got to escape and hide for quite a while >:( people like him need to be put to justice!

  • Thank you for posting these vids. The horror of the Holocaust must be kept alive. Let us never forget it, and never permit it.

  • can you belive that slayer made a song about him... and they sing it like they praise him too, i cant belive people

  • @SheriffTankStoner Yea , I think that's asking a little to much .

  • @nicktesla45 Well, since he had a wonderful singing voice, why not make him a good cook too. I was gonna make him the 568th runner-up for Time Magazine's 'Man Of The Year' for 1943 but then that would be a little too much.

  • @SheriffTankStoner That sounds like a Tasty German Dish ! He was a good cook huh ?! I Heard that Uncle Hitler was a real Tea-toater and loved Dangling conversations on Philosophy and Metaphysics . We would've got along beautifully .
