Now it is my turn to apologize for not responding; when school is winding down, I seem to have no life. I first though, want to tell you that just yesterday, I saw what the Kahn Academy is all about due to my TED download notification, and WOW....amazing at how a seemingly innocent video could spark this whole idea. Now onto you. First, what made you interested in all of this? And about Robinson, I show his TED talks to my students. And what about running for the school board?

@americanwomanFL, first of all sorry for taking so long to reply. I have only recently begun to engage with the education issue. I'm starting to educate myself - Parker Palmer, Ken Robinson, etc. And Diane Ravitch, of course. I have started entertaining the idea of running for school board. I need to do some more investigation of that.

Thank you for your note. I had thought about running for the school board, but I want to spend some time in Europe for a few years when I retire, so that is a no-go. I am doing #2 and # 4 and need to look up your #5 to see what that is about.... So, may I ask if you are doing something for the "cause"????

Great cause! Here are some thoughts about things one could do to get the ball rolling:

    1. Run for the local school board

    2. Educate & curate

    3. Engage the other - until we get a good grasp of what is driving people the other way (e.g. root cause analysis with 5 Whys), it will be a shouting match and raw power politics.

    4. Encourage people to see connections and the long term

    5. Start the Kahn academy for educational policy
