Copper Wire Thefts- People Behaving Badly

Oakland is having a problem with copper being stolen from city light poles ...but you have to wonder how much copper is in one light pole?

WOW! this is new to me. I never thought I would see this here in the U.S. I use to collect/ NOT STEAL red copper wire and other metals I know red copper is the most expensive metal sold on junk yards. We are going down the roads towards being a third world country....starting in Oakland.

This happens all the time. 3rd world nation for the west side of the U.S. mostly because of mexican area.

there alot of reports of thefts back in the 60's and 70's. dumbfucks don't have any honestly. Get the fuck out of California is the best thing but nope, assholes still don't what too.

@SexSteakSoda there was a time in england where 1 penny was worth 2 pennies ;) people were cashing out all their money in pennys and doubling their money, but because the availability rose the price eventualy dropped ;) supply and demand dude!

@emforty2 England is the same. One funny story involved "pikeys" who stole a JCB (backhoe) traffic lights and a jackhammer. They would dig up the road and rip out cable. Allegedly they could get up to 1/4 mile at one go. One day they found a nice thick cable and thought they had got lucky. Nope! the cable was oil filled and about 100,000 volts. Two blokes were incinerated on the spot and the explosion made a crater. The other blokes just abandoned everything and left. Gold fever?
