I heard that Knuckles is actually faster than Sonic in this game, and around 7:03 it proves it. He managed to get closer to Sonic.

I just wish you could use other characters in race levels normally. Knuckles and Rouge's speed is wasted. Also mechless Eggman is pretty fast in this game too. Even Tikal is faster than Sonic and Shadow lol.

@cargochaos well I know he pulls out on sonic.(acceleration) but sonic is definitely faster on most inclines. sonic's top speed is equivalent a fully charged spin dash(initial speed). While knuckles has many racing stats over sonic in this game, his top speed is not one of them. on a straightaway, sonic will eventually pass him. i forgot how long it takes.

@cargochaos Knuckles has better acceleration, but Sonic is faster. Just check the beginning of the video, Sonic leaves Knuckles to eat dust.

The fact that Knuckles could stay that close to Sonic (and even surpass him) (regardless of the fact that Sonic may or may not be running the course in the best possible time) is nothing short of amazing.
