Another of my favorite versions of Dougie McLean's classic Caledonia, sung by ReGael. its the same slide show, just a different artist.
2009 is a big year for Scotland. Its the 250th birthday of Robert Burns, and we are celebrating with over 200 events throughout the year. The whole world's invited and so are you. They are encouraging Scots from all around the world and anyone who has an affinity to Scotland to come back home for a homecoming and reconnecting with their roots.

Caledonia is the Latin name given by the Romans to the land north of their province of Brittania, beyond the frontier of their empire. Modern use is as a romantic or poetic name for Scotland, as a whole.

  • Aye! Lets Scotland Flourish. Thumbs up if you agree!

  • @ceanadach

Slàinte mhòr is the Scottish variant - good Health. You have the Irish my friend.

  • This whole series of videos about Scotland by talented Scots and listened to globally by Scotiaphiles like myself is simple wonderful. Music with a message came to us in the US directly from Scotland where music tells a story about life, politics, love and this can change the world if truehearts unite in the mission of TRUTH and LIGHT instead of "wars for profit"

  • @ceanadach we lost our language the gaelic so sad

  • i love being scottish....we are a proud nation

  • great version!

  • This is a very nice arrangement of this song. Very well done!

...I'm sure even Dougie would approve! ; )

  • I love this song, anyone who sings it with passion does it well in my opinion... I think it captures the heart of a Scot who misses his homeland...and thinks of Scotland and wishes to be back...you can't get Scotland out of your blood, mind and soul, even if you haven't been there are just a Scot born elsewhere you long for it like I do. I will be HOME there one day!

  • this is a great version!

  • Lovely!
