Daisuke Takahashi 高橋大輔 2007 Winter Universiade Torino LP "Phantom of the Opera"

Daisuke's awesome long program to the music from the Phantom of the Opera.

Towards the middle, a strap on his pants got loose and the music stopped and he had to restrap it in the middle of the performance. He did this very calmly while the audience cheered him on and then resumed successfully to finish the program. He won this event.

I think the judges were the ones who made Daisuke stop skating because of his loose strap because the music stopped first before he stopped skating. This was probably an ISU skating safety regulation.

I love what they have done with the music, it's very difrent in some parts but oh my... it's so beautiful!

i agree the referee did whistle and i hope they would never have allowed him to continue, it doesnt skate so well when you step on one of your straps, especially during a foot sequence!

ohhh yeah the referee definitly stopped him, you could hear the whistle...thats strange though, I dont think they wouldve doine that at like A bigger comepttion like worlds or somethign

this program was really good.. but i think he could have kept going regarless of the straps.. they didn't look like they were going to trip him.. i dont think they were long enough.. but i guess its better to be safe.. but regarless it was really good and its cool cuz i get to see him do that in person all the time at my home rink
