Sure, you can laugh at this. But when comparing christianity with scientology the mechanisms of mind control are exactly the same. While being an apparently bad sci-fi writer Hubbard at least had a clear understanding of the psychology of religion. Once you're inside you can't get out. No matter how absurd the beliefs are. Falling from your faith is an eventuality ingenuously forecasted. You're still stuck within it, all you ever did was sentencing yourself to eternal punishment.

i think scientology's theology is fine for almost anyone -- except gays of course from what i hear but that was many years ago and this is now. in fact, i think that i'm pretty much a scientologst b/c it's more believable than christianity or the supernatural but it's equally fairy tale.

In the twenty years since this documentary was made, things have become a lot easier for dissenters. It's a lot safer to protest against the Cult of $cientology now, because our numbers are growing. But stay safe, and stay anonymous. We're going to shut this scam down.
