  • Amazing. You are phenomenal, and very unique. Thanks for the very good video!

Did you play in a marching band?

  • yes. few in UK and Cadets and Bluedevils in the US.. but quite a few years ago now... 1995-97..

  • swiss army triplet

  • thanks, but isnt a swiss ARMY triplet just rrl?? Not flam right left?

  • actually If you check PAS naming you are correct they call it the Swiss ARMY triplet.. nice one..

  • i see you were using a single peda;so much more gratification when you play something most people have to use a double pedal for with a single

do you use the pedal slide or the heel toe

i got the pedal slide on lock, but i cant do heel toe for the life of me

i heard heel toe is slower and bad for your ankles though

  • slide... cant get on with heel toe...

  • I got one for y'all. Alternating Swiss Armies. Flam right left Flam left right. Of course, alternate the flams right left, not too hard but fun.

  • My understanding of Swiss Army Triplets is simply an pure accented flam triplet pattern say, FLR repeated over 16th notes (not triplets at all). Placing a kick on the main beat of each set of four 16ths provides the cross rhythm between the snare and kick. In any event, you have developed a use for your own style when combining triplet patterns with 16th notes similar to those known as Swiss Army Triplets.

  • In effect, your use as demonstrated are simply single beats played on the right hand with a left hand grace note added before the first and then every third beat with an accent on the following right is it not? I note that your stave writings do not show triplets at all, but 16th notes grouped in fours with an accent each third beat. It is my understanding that the definition of Triplets is three notes played in the space of two notes of the same value.

  • You are obviously very adept at playing an accented flam followed by a double right around the kit. Do you also use a double left, or left then right or right then left? I understand that the orthodox method of practicing 8th note or 16th note flam triplets is utilising alternate hands i.e. FLR FRL.

  • That's cool, thanks... Do you have heads on toms tight enough to give you rebound when you play with fingers fast single strokes, doubles?

    thanks

  • Wow you really rocked that. Thank you.

  • yeah, this is called a swiss army triplet

this video is great, i've sadly neglected swiss army triplets, and this has inspired me :)

  • NICE!
