Deep Space Nine: Dax & Lenara kiss

Dax, a member of the Deep Space Nine crew, is a being who hosts, and shares a symbiotic relationship an 'elder' and with the elder's prior hosts. In this episode, Dax's elder was married with Lenara's elder. Prior "couples" are not allowed to meet in order to allow the current host to live their own lives rather than that of a past host. In this instance, Dax and Lenara are unable to stay away from one another and share a kiss.

There was a discussion of "kisses" in Hollywood and literature on another site. Though it had been years since I'd seen this scene (no pun intended) I referenced it as being one of the kindest, gentlest, most heartfelt kisses in film or print. Having watched it again after all these many years, I stand by that comment. It had nothing to do with sex, or gender, or gays, or lesbianism... instead it was about love shared between two people.
