@blueparrot989 i think langford was more skilled then rocky and also had the fiercer punch

@ezedk20bulldog A) The 27 knockdowns are a myth. No next-day reports of the fight make any mention of them. The myth was brought upon by naught but yellow journalism, along with so many other boxing legends of lore.
B) It doesn't exist on film.

Thank you so much for posting this !!!!!!!!!! I've been looking for footage of Joe forever. Unfortunate It wasn't a win. Proud to call him Uncle Joe. Would you happen to have any other footage? S Jennette,
BTW the "A' in Jennette is a mis-spelling that stuck.

@blueparrot989 i think marciano, because HW wasn't his natural weight

@andrewr62 Lets hope so. From what Iv'e read time is running out regarding the life span of those films. They start to deteriorate after so many years.

@blueparrot989 Marciaon was too big and too strong for him. Wouldnt have been much of a match in my opinion!

A few years ago no film of the Joe Jeanette was known to exist. There has got to be other films out there of turn of the century legends. There were fights known have to been filmed that were lost. Fights such as Jeffries vs Corbett, Dempsey vs Fulton, Gunboat Smith vs Carpentier, even Greb's victory over Tunney. I wonder if these lost treasures will ever surface.

i wonder who would have won a fight between "ROCKY MARCIANO V SAM LANGFORD"? THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN MEGA-MASSIVE! WHO DO YOU THINK WOULD HAVE WON A FIGHT BETWEEN THESE 2-FIGHTING LEGENDS?
Rare boxing had ten rounds of the Johnson-Willard fight and Tommy Burns fighting Joe Beckett in 1920. It doesn't get any better than that.
