For a thirsty elephant, it can't get any better than this. The Philadelphia Zoo elephants don't have to drink from a mud hole, a creek, a lake, a river, or even a garden hose. They drink fresh water pumped continuously in to the beautiful pond created just for them.

  • I researched before about the elephant exhibit, and apparently it was built in the 1940's. Do you think they should have brought it up to date and make it more natural for the elephants?

  • @awesomeH2O Yes, of course, in the same way that almost all other U.S. zoos that have always exhibited elephants are doing while keeping their elephant exhibits open.

Zoos should always improve, update, and, where possible, also expand.

  • I never saw Peggy or Kutenga at the Zoo before. Kutenga died at 27 years old ...why so young?
