fruglescot, the tapes you saw are biased attack against a person without looking at it from both sides. I'm no mulroney hater or a lover myself but just from the name of the tapes alone, it's obvious it is purely an attack and not a two sided debate. Stop believing pure propaganda and look at it from both sides. Just because hitler was a con man does that make everything he did bad, such as informing the public that smoking as bad for health. although there is evidence of hurricanes, this does not logically mean HUMANS are at fault. There is also hot spots on the sun that could be the cause. Humans may have a tiny affect or a great affect - there is no need to make assumptions but rather make it clear we do not know what exactly is causing different weather.

Actually acuteegotist, I have reviewed the record and will modify my furniture remark.

Tthe truth is that before they left they tried to saddle the taxpayer with their furnishings for a tidy $150,000. Because of a great public uproar over the matter the deal was scrapped and the furniture was later donated.

They obviously had second thoughts about their intentions and tried to stem the public rage.

I want to say that my denouncement of Mulroney does not in any way intimate an endorsement for his Liberal predessor. Mulroney in true neocon style provided the means for the ultimate erosion of Canada's unique and hard fought social programs. He is clearly troubled by his historic legacy and will pull out all the stops in an effort to spin and revise his record while PM. He seems dedicated to this project in his final years.

You're right Mulroney was one of the "most elegant and charming Prime Ministers on the take, ever." Jean Chretien wasn't elegant or charming, just the biggest crook we ever had as PM, ever.
