Hm, well, other than the cheese appeal of the movie's campiness and it's ambitious special effects (which were quite good at the time), "Fright Night" was one of the earliest movies to take the vampire legend and take it into the modern day. The vampire in this movie isn't Christopher Lee in his old haunted castle, he's the man next door, on the surface as ordinary as you or me. Along with "The Lost Boys" and "Near Dark", this flick is part of the "Holy Trinity" of 80s vampire movies.
