@nomiclas , That can be said for many successful female singers...Diana Ross, Madonna, etc..However, to me, Petula's voice was one of the voices that embodied the 60's. She was distinctive

Simply as good as it gets. I remember listening to this back in the day as a 14 year old nerdy teen and it still sounds as good as ever.

@nox240 ,I appreciate your blog post, cause I thought it was due to me getting old (late 40's) that I don't like so much of modern pop music that's released today. It's grotesquely without soul, mostly synthetic, auto-tuned. It doesn't sound real. The only talent required of it is people to mime the sounds. Early 30's is not old dude. I don't know what it's going to take to get back to real sounding music. I thought the mp3 revolution would take care of that, but it didn't, just made it worse.
Pet is such a beautiful woman and has such a great voice.
