I thing Vagar Airport on the Faeroe Islands beats them all. During winter half the landings are aborted, and many flights are cancelled and postponed due to weather conditions making landings impossible. When you go to Vagar be prepared for at nights stay in Scotland or Norway. You want to go there, but you don't know for sure when you will arrive, or be diverted back to Copenhagen..

@Nandinhoization This island is an overseas region of Portugal. It is geographically located 520km off the coast of Africa although the population is well European! = )

Hi Tiago. Where is this island? I am from Brazil and the world Madeira is in portuguese. Here in Brazil we speak portugues and I think there you speak English.

@harlekin4you Absolutley agree with you.I fell in love with Madeira 4 yrs ago on Honeymoon and am currently planning my 7th visit there hopefully early in new yr.I dont know about u but my favourite place is Eira Do Serrado.The view from the top NEVER fails to give me goosebumps all over!!

I was born on the island and I went to see the inaugauration at the airport , and there was a boeing 747 on the taxi way so that looks like the biggest airplane that can land here.
