RC Hovercraft

A compilation of video footage of my rc hovercraft, built completely from scratch, and based loosely off the Griffon 2000 plans found on www.model-hovercraft.com. The motors are cheap 400 size heli outrunners from hobbyking, 3200kV each. The craft runs on a 5000mAh 2s Lipo, and weighs around three pounds. It is stabilized by a HK401b head locking gyro, which makes a huge difference in turns and limits fishtailing. ESCs are towerPro 40 amps. Transmitter is Futaba T4GWD-AM with the 2.4ghz diy Corona modification. Top speed was acheived on the run with the crash, as I misjudged the curve in the road. That run was Gps'd at 32.4 mph on my garmin. I have not yet tested this craft on the water. Video shot with Go Pro HD Hero in 720p, 60fps. No cameras or hovercraft were harmed in the making of this video!
