The Geological Diagrams of Buckminster Fuller

K. Michael Hays (Arch 1976) presented drawings and models from the Buckminster Fuller archive that demonstrate his understanding of the geometrical foundation of natural and designed phenomena. Presented on October 29, 2008, in the Architecture Auditorium.

Michael Hays has played a central role in the advancement of architectural theory and the role of the architect as cultural critic. As editor of Assemblage and author of numerous books, he has focused attention on the work of Hannes Meyer, Ludwig Hilberseimer and Mies van der Rohe; as well as Peter Eisenman, Machado & Silvetti and the late John Hejduk. He is the Eliot Noyes Professor of Architectural Theory at Harvard University and the first curator of architecture at the Whitney Museum of American Art where he directed the recent exhibition on Buckminster Fuller.

he wrote a book NO MORE SECOND HAND GOD, the idea that hays states he never put his self and god togethert. What crap - the statement that his structures are dreadful to live in is complete nonsense. I lived in a dome it is great. Mr. Hays is what some people say there is nothing more dangerous than a half educated teacher. sorolon is right you use bucky ideas to knock them down and raise your self into your educational system job. etc. that you say at 106.30 he is very problematic go to fcu.

it is hays that is the egoist to say that r.b. fuller had a problem with being an

architect. the question before last in the video shows the lack of patience for

people that think they know what they are talking about to take advantage of

being the one talking. Fuller was the greatest architect in the world. ever.

Architects are so full of crap that it beggars belief. No wonder the world is filled with ugly self-aggrandizing buildings that are demoralizing to see and to be in.

Wanted to hear about Fuller, but don't have the patience to wait through the bull.
