If Eddie McGuire had first-day nerves during his Triple M breakfast show debut, he wasn't showing them.
Cleverly starting out on air as many of his rivals began a two-week non-ratings break, McGuire turned on the charm for day one of The Hot Breakfast.
The 6-9am show featured some big names for its debut, including Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, his deputy Julia Gillard and Premier John Brumby.
McGuire said the show would be a local mix of sport, news, politics, music and entertainment, but yesterday it was very heavy on sport - namely AFL.
McGuire and his team - former Western Bulldogs star Luke Darcy, ex-SBS sports broadcaster Mieke Buchan and comedian Tony Moclair - had an easy rapport despite their "newness".
