First Apple was designed by Steve Wozniak. Steve Jobs, a friend had the idea of selling the computer. Exhibited at Homebrew Computer Club in April 1976 and went on sale in July 1976 at a price of $666.66. About 200 30-chip units were assambled. However, users had to add case, power supply, keyboard & display. A cassete interface for storage was released later at $75.

  • im not an apple fan, and i don't own one, but when i have the money i'll get one, but to the comments of dcnutter and trent0090, first, apple fans are not insecure, if someone should be insecure is micrisoft users with all the viruses out there, if someone deserves their place in history are the UNIX OE creators. bill gate took UNIX and reverse engineered it to make ms dos, and the only creators of break-through products is apple, microsoft hasn't create anyhting, they take other's companies...

  • @iWantMyMailNow. Apple didn't steal xerox. They bought a copy of it but it was jus crap. Apple assembled the thing properly.

  • apple ii/e and c64 are legionds. hes a pc today is way more advanced and do many more things owing a pc in those days was just fun. yes you can emulate em but having the real hardware is where you get the felling. but you have to be a 80s computer user to knoe what i mean. linux has brought back the openess of 80s computing.
