The Huawei Ascend Y100 is an entry level Android device that's cheap, cheerful and has a surprisingly reasonable set of specifications. It's 800Mhz single core processor isn't particularly powerful, but is still nippier than some devices. The dinky 2.8" touchscreen is pleasingly capacitive rather than resistive, and while the resolution is quite low (it reminded me of the HTC Wildfire) images are relatively crisp and bright.
