Tazy, the neck bones are relatively long but they wod have coiled back like a an 'S' shape for strength an to find it's centre of gravity and 2 obsorb it's walking movement. The head wod then have probably bobbed back and forth- like most birds do when walking on the ground, scavenging for food etc.

@dali366 But that T-rex had short stiff neck to hold the head so it doesn't droop. And why are we going on an anatomic argument anyway? Look it up! Hehe

The old vids of trex walking upright with the tail dragging on the ground to counter balance it were obviously wrong but there is no reason why trex could nt stand upright in a similar pose with the tail off the ground and the animal balancing itself solely on it's legs. That way, it's centre of gravity went dwn from the head, thro the body and down thro the legs. model animators shod try to experiment this instead on you tube

@Tazy50 True, the tail served as a counter balance-as with the head- but these were finely tuned adaptions but wer not like a horizontal see saw which wod have made the animal bob up and down! Wht wod happen if the tail got bite off ? wod trex fall over head first? The head alone must have weighed more than a ton so imagine that weight hanging out at the far end -serious back ache!!... the head must have been far more upright to put that weight back onto the body an dwn thro the legs :)
-
@dali366 Maybe it didn't walk exactly like this in the video. But if it did walk upright, what would the purpose of the tail be? The t-rex weighed a lot, but the tail balanced it out. Look at the location of the leg when it's horizontal, they're in a good location for the center of balance.

@Tazy50 Do you honestly think Trex walked like this in the vid? ATM it is cool to make Trex walk horizontally because it's a modern and marketable stance. The animal was heavier than a full grown African elephant and its guts wod have bulged if it walked horizontally. Where is the evidence that the femur wod be dislocated if trex walked more up right?
-
@dali366 Woah dude you may have watched too many of those old school T-Rex movies. The tail probably would have balanced out a T-rex's body. T-rex's upper body was kinda heavy so it may have caused joint pains and weakening if t-rex wakled upright.

Trex may as well have four legs...Try making him walk upright :)

I have two questions:
1-did you make the animation bones yourself? or were they imported
2-how many vertices did you use?
