The Music Lab offers a curriculum to students in music performance, recording arts, and the music business for future careers in the entertainment industries. This was a guided tour given to Star City Fame by Music Lab Art Director Dylan Locke in November 2009. Dylan shows us the different studio rooms and talks about the gear, the programs, and what students can expect to accomplish at the Music Lab.
Star City Fame would like to thank Dylan, the Music Lab, and all of its benefactors (many who are area recording studio operators who donate time, equipment and expertise to the Music Lab) for this advanced model of Arts Education they have made accessible to our region's youth.
The Music Lab is located at the Jefferson Center Building in Downtown Roanoke, VA. For more information about the Music Lab and their programs, please visit their website at http://www.jeffcenter.org/musiclab/ - You can also find them on MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter.
Music in this video is an excerpt from "Life is Short" by James Morgan. Hear his recordings and others on the Music Lab radio at http://www.jeffcenter.org/radio/music-lab-radio.html

Is this studio just for students at a local university or college in Roanoke ?

@DirtyHunGoneWild Hey what's up? Music Lab is a non-profit org and now part of the Jeff Ctr in Roanoke. Used to be younger kids can enter the program, but now in process of being avail to older youngsters, I think college students. Also, the recording studio is accessible for hire to the public on eve's. Not sure what their rates are.
