  • Thank you to perform a piece of this rare french lutenist. He wasn't the most famous amongst the french lutenist involved with broken style but his expression was very mannered. Bravo, well played. More and more Dubut tunes.

  • Thank you for posting this performance of Dubut! Although most baroque lutenists (at least on Youtube) seem to prefer Weiss for the more obviously dramatic quality of his music, yet in my opinion the French lute composers of the 17th century (Dubut, Dufault, the Gaultiers, Mouton, etc.) are far more difficult to play successfully. I have far more respect for the lutenists who can play them well than for those who bring off a piece of Weiss.
