Well thats for you to find out. 42 days is the number of days the body takes to replace all the cells with fresh ones. Also 42 days = 1008 hours, which is considered a very auspicious number. 42 Days if you regularly chant this mantra all negative things happening in one's life gets nullified. Lord Shiva had drunk the poison which had come from the Sagar Manthan, and it is said that He drinks away the negative effects(bad karma) in our conciousness.

I just have to say to all the people who complain about "he doesn't say it right"...

I have an accent too, I can't speak right in my native language & can't speak right in my living language. What I do know is that the first time I heard this mantra/song.. It made me cry & smile all at the same time. I see no harm, I see my heart instead.
