  • what kind of sand do you use also great video.

  • Any kind of sand, like from a sand box or fine grit dirt from under a tree with no fertilizer or pesticide in it. The grit is for the worms' gizzard. Like a bird the grit helps the worms to break up the food they consume. Thanks for watching the video and being interested in worming.

  • Thank you so much for this. The free worm factory (your guys' brand) I got has like 5 or 6 trays and I had no idea what to do. I get my red wiggler's this sunday, I am excited... I have heard different things about putting small amount of citrus rind in. Some people say none at all, some say small amounts or wait until it's dry... can you advise? THANK YOU FOR THIS!

  • Yes, there's no reason why you couldn't do it inside and, you're right, that that's a necessity in colder states. (MN here too.)

A healthy system doesn't smell bad -- just like earth.

  • can you use it indoors I live in MN and winters out side would kill the worms

  • Helpful video, but could stand some direction.
